Shared FoldersBy Jesse Franklin Are you ever curious just how many folders you are sharing on a network? This is an easy way to find out. This is a very simple snap-in to work with. Click on Shared Folders. As you will see, there are three sections to this snap-in. They are Shares, Sessions, and Open Files. If you have a folder that is being shared you will see a hand below the icon. Notice that your hard drive(s) and Shared Folder has a hand below it. Shares is a simple snap-in to use. This is just a list of shared folders on your computer. If you right-click on a shared folder and select Properties, and then go to Share Permissions, you can change which users have access to the shared folder by adding or removing a user. To do this, click Add, and then type the user.s name and click OK. This part may seem complicated. It's alright. This is not a necessary thing to do unless you are managing a network. Sessions and Open Files are simple features also. If you are on a network and someone is accessing a shared folder and a file on your computer, you can look here and see that they have a folder opened in Sessions and a file opened on Open Files. You can right-click the user's name and disconnect them, or right-click on Sessions and choose 'Disconnect All Sessions' or Open Files and select 'Disconnect All Open Files'.
