Microsoft Software Inventory Analyzer

By Joshua Erdman
Digital Foundation, inc.

The Microsoft Software Inventory Analyzer (MSIA) is a great to to inspect your network for all installed versions of Microsoft Productivity Software, operating systems, and development tools. Including:

  • Microsoft Office
  • FrontPage
  • Visio
  • Project
  • Visual Studio

Running MSIA is a breeze. It connects to each machine over the network and scans that computer's hard drive. When it is done can creates a detailed report of what is installed. It does not however, provide what installation keys were used so there is no way to track how many times you have used each license. also, you need to inventory the licenses you have on hand before running this software so that you can get an accurate report.

Microsoft Spyware?

The MSIA is not a spy program by any means. It does not send any data to Microsoft in any way.
